Syn-Fit Crit

I don't have much excitement to share about my Syn-Fit experience. I didn't ride all that well, I'm pretty sure I was dehydrated and opted not to prepare with any recognizable form of a pre-race routine. Oops. Glad I've now worked out the early-season kinks. One noteworthy aspect of the race was my stellar attack with 6 to go, which looked very well executed and pretty, but within 30 seconds of launching my attack, my stomach decided that it was pissed and didn't like that decision. So...to punish me, it decided to upheave whatever was in it. I didnt actually puke, but it was as close as could be. Fun stuff....that has actually never happened to me in a bike race before. Surprising, when in my four years of high school cross country running I was a chronic puker. After every race, I crossed the finish line and puked, or dry-heaved at least. Like clockwork. Good times. Let's hope for better news during Ephrata this weekend.

I also got the best apology I've ever gotten in my entire life at Syn-Fit. It is a long story, but it involved a mysterious case of mistaken identity at 'cross nats this past year. To make up for his identification error, Buck (the mid-atlantic cross legend Dee Dee Winfield's husband) offered the most sincere and heartfelt apology I have ever received in my entire life. I know most of you who are reading this will have no idea what I'm talking about, but for those who do (including Buck), I wanted to extend my appreciation for such a genuine apology. I think you and Dee Dee are awesome, and harbored no resentment prior to the apology, but think even more highly of you now than I did before (if that is even possible). It will be a great cross season this year, I'm really looking forward to it.

So, back to studying. Pictures of the new ride and other adventures to come. Gotta pass my finals first :-O.

Arley could decorate her blog with images taken by GWADZILLA!

as if GWADZILLA is her personal cyclocross photographer!
